Human Companion
Human Companion is a DJ and recording artist. In the past he has organized the Concern and Full Circle nights in the San Francisco bay area performing an eclectic live set done entirely off of a PowerBook that includes his own material as well as releases from lables such as Rhythm and Sound, Kompakt, Persona, Playhouse, and minus.
Having just created the first LU full length CD the year before where a bars and beats method was employed for an exacting pace and having been a long time user of computer software for the extreme manipulation of sound Human Companion was waiting for the right circumstances to gel. Inspired by the near simultaneous release of Richie Hawtin's monumental "DE9 Closer to the Edit" and Ableton's Live software the Companion has struck. Creating entirely new events out of the snipets of others Human Companion is actively practicing the method of the future. Loops found within loops, samples of samples of samples. Briefly familiar and inviting yet intriguingly foreign.
Set Snipets
Bits and pieces of sets usually recorded live and never edited after the fact. Rough and ready for consumption. Have at it. Apologies for the large file sizes. Probably best to download the files completely and then listen off line.

Appearances
Human Companion has appeared at Subtext which took place every Saturday night at Tonic located at 107 Norfolk Street between Delancy and Rivington on the Lower East side. HC has also appeared at Filler which was a weekly Sunday night event created by Richard Chartier in Washington, DC. Also in DC, the Capsule night at the Pharmacy Bar which was another Sunday night weekly which hosted HC on sojourns back east.
In the San Francisco bay area Human Companion has collaborated with Kid Frostbite and Nik on several nights including Concern and Full Circle.
Material
Human Companion is also actively producing new tracks utilizing a method of combining loops, silent space and textures. These new tracks employ a dub studio sound system process and the result is a great deal of space surrounding the carefully cultivated sounds and articulating a particular place in time.
