textilesounds releases are indexed rather than cataloged. The index format is as follows:

• artist_name.release_title.format.edition.creation_date.release_date
• Format is the release type (i.e. vinyl, cd, mini-disc, film, dv).
• Edition is the number of replications produced (i.e. 1, 500). Releases that are re-released are given a new index entry.
• Dates are in the YYYYMMDD format with the day being optional.
• Creation dates mark when the project was completed. Release dates mark the availability of the work or the screening date.
• Puncuation in titles and artist names is removed. Spaces are replaced with underscores.
